Memories of a 70's Child
I rememberLong hair,
Straight hair,
Pony tails,
and polyester.
I remember
T-shirts,
Tight shirts,
Tie-dye,
and polyester.
I remember
"Good Times,”
Nixon’s crimes,
Liberty …
and polyester.
You know,
We
Needed peace, man,
We
Watched the Brady Bunch
We
Cried when Elvis died
We
Did the Disco Duck
and We
Wore
Polyester.
You know,
I
Liked halter tops
I
Played with Lemon Twists
I
Watched the NASA ships
I
Laughed at Carol Burnett
and I HATED
Polyester.

As a kid I played outside from sun up till sun down. My curfew was the sunset or Mom stepping out the front porch and yelling my name that I could hear a block away.
